Leadership Training

Our highly respected leadership training programme takes place at the end of the school year and is open to any year 12 students who wish to take part and contribute the following year to the wider life of the school.

Students take part in a combined Rotary International peer support training programme combined with adventure activities as a way to explore key concepts around team leadership. Topics include:

  • Relationship building
  • Communications skills
  • Trust
  • Feelings
  • Leadership styles
  • Dealing with conflict
  • Working with teenagers
  • Risk management
  • Adventure activities

The training is based at Mt Aspiring homestead and students have the opportunity to lead each other during the week as an effective way to develop a bag of leadership tricks.

We encourage students to take leadership roles the following year as peer tutors, student executive members, house leaders and Year 10 camp leaders

Our leadership training programme has been independently researched with highly positive results
