Sam McCulloch (Year 12)
Dunstan High School is a wonderful school for pursuing your interests and achieving your goals. The school’s supportive and encouraging culture has given me the opportunity to further my skills in the sport of Canoe Slalom. Not only has Dunstan helped me perform at a high level in my sporting activities, it has greatly assisted my personal development through encouraging leadership within the school. I was lucky enough to take on a student executive role this year, and although I am only a Year 12 student, the staff members and students have been extremely supportive of me.
I believe that Dunstan High School has provided me with a stimulating and supportive learning environment. Whether you want to pursue competitive sporting events, performing arts, or exploring and expanding your creativity, the staff are genuinely interested in developing your talents.

Sophie Wright (Year 13)
Dunstan High School has given me so many great opportunities to develop my performance skills. I have always had a passion for Music and Drama and Dunstan High School has given me the chance to excel in these areas.
Being a member of ‘Dunstanza’, our school choir, is something I have thoroughly enjoyed since I started Dunstan High School in Year 9. Performing annually at the ‘Big sing’ has given me great experience in choral singing and helped me work towards the role I now have as Choir Leader, which is a great leadership opportunity.
My other main personal highlights include performing the lead role of ‘Rizzo’ in the 2011 production of ‘Grease’ and performing the role of ‘Lady Marmalade’ in the 2013 production of ‘Disco Inferno’. I have also had the opportunity to perform in, and compere, the school’s Arterati Showcase, sing with the Dunstan High School Jazz Band, and compete in the annual Rotary Speech Competition.
Although I have always been passionate about the Arts, I have only gained the confidence I now have as a performer, through the opportunities, guidance and inspiration provided by my teachers here at Dunstan.

Chris Hill (Year 10)
Dunstan High School has given me the opportunity to develop my musical and sporting talents. Being a member of the school choir, Dunstanza, has not only greatly improved my singing ability, it has also helped me become a more responsible and organized person. I am thankful to be able to receive such great tutoring. A recent highlight for me was performing in the Big Sing Choral Competition in Dunedin. This was a new and exciting experience for me as I had never sung in front of so many people before.
I also joined the Athletics Squad last year and this has vastly improved my speed and fitness. Thanks to the outstanding support and coaching, I have performed well at events, at local and South Island level.
I am looking forward to continuing my improvements in these different activities as I enter my senior years at school.

Adriana Mawhinney (Year 11)
Dunstan High School has given me so many great opportunities to strive and achieve in co-curricular activities as well as academic areas. Sport is a very important part of my life and Dunstan has given me the opportunity to achieve at the highest level by offering excellent coaching and exceptional facilities for training.
Dunstan also has a great performing arts programme which I have benefited from. I have participated in the Choral Festival, the House Dance Off competition and I am a member of the school Dance Troupe.
All of these experiences have helped me develop my performance skills and confidence while having fun and enjoying myself.
Dunstan has allowed me to pursue my academic interests with a wide range of subject options in an enriching and supportive environment. The teachers are very understanding and supportive and are always there to give you a helping hand if needed.
