Road Crossings

Kia ora everyone

I have received a concern from one of our AA Councillors who had a near miss with some tamariki on a road crossing. The children were on bikes and had come spinning straight onto the crossing without looking or slowing down. This is not the first concern that has come my way.

Can you please raise this with your student and parent population, that they need to push their bikes across a road crossing and not ride them over?

We really want to encourage more kids to ride to school and we don’t want to see an avoidable accident happen. To that end, I am more than happy to come to your school for a road safety chat in terms of use of bikes for transport.
