Winter Camps in Naseby

This July school holidays, children aged eight and over can experience one of New Zealand’s most unique winter sports environments in historic Naseby, Central Otago.

The Maniototo Adventure Park and New Zealand Luge Association is running:

  • an Ice Camp featuring ice skating and ice luge
  • a Luge Camp focused on developing ice luge skills

Held on New Zealand’s only ice luge track — and the only one in the Southern Hemisphere — these camps provide a rare opportunity for young people to try exciting winter sports in a safe, supportive environment. Participants will also enjoy skating at one of the country’s few outdoor ice rinks.

The camps are designed for school-aged children from across the lower South Island and encourage:

  • confidence and resilience
  • physical activity and balance
  • learning new skills
  • teamwork and friendship
  • participation in unique New Zealand sporting experiences
