My name is Anna, and I am a Research Assistant at Massey University working on the Body Project Research Study.
The Body Project is an evidence-based wellbeing programme designed to help young women explore and challenge cultural pressures surrounding body image. Internationally, the programme has been shown to improve body acceptance, mood, and overall wellbeing.
We have successfully delivered online Body Project groups this year with secondary school students from across New Zealand, and it has been wonderful to see participants engage with and benefit from the programme.
We are currently recruiting female secondary school students aged 16 years and over from across New Zealand to participate in upcoming online groups running throughout the remainder of this year and into 2027. The programme is delivered online and is free of charge.
With ongoing discussion in New Zealand about the impact of social media on young people's wellbeing, it is encouraging to be able to offer a positive, practical, and evidence-based programme that supports body confidence, resilience, and overall wellbeing.
