Eddie Adams and Mountain Biking Success
Eddie Adams has had a sparkling start to 2024.

Eddie (Year 13) recently competed in the National Mountain Biking Championships at Coronet Peak, where he won his first New Zealand title in the U19 Cross Country. It caps off a successful summer to date for Eddie. A week earlier he placed 2nd overall and 1st U19 in the Goldminer MTB event at Coronet peak, a 40km race with 2000m of climbing in it. At the start of February Eddie went to the Gold Coast in Australia to compete in the Australian National MTB series. There he raced twice in two days and was placed 4th in round 1 and 1st in round 2, coming home with an Australian gold medal.

Five days later he competed in the Elite Road Cycling Nationals in Timaru where he placed 6th in the U19’s. Eddie's next race is the local ‘Prospector’, a 3 stage MTB race followed by another trip to Brisbane to compete in the Oceania MTB Champs. Winning the national title will hopefully help his case for selection in the NZ team to compete in the MTB World Champs in Andorra in August.

Well done Eddie!
