DUNSTAN NEWS
A lot of that time has been spent with our Year 12 students who are developing their leadership skills by becoming Tuakana Peer Supporters: being a big buddy in a big school. Wednesday saw grand tours of the school grounds, people bingo and other "connection" games, to help our Teina (Year 9) feel welcomed and get to know each other. But it was in the afternoon when the Year 12 showed their skills by leading their buddy classes through different activities. They were hula hooping and running, they were in circles and in teams; they played tag, noughts and crosses and a game called fruit salad, all in the name of fun and to kick start the year. Of course there were also ice blocks at the end of the day!
Well done to our Tuakana, you were awesome, and to our Teina nau mai haere mai
