Farewell and Thank You to Mr. Todd Adams
Farewell and Thank You to Mr. Todd Adams
It is with mixed emotions that we farewell Mr. Todd Adams, our Deputy Principal in Charge of Curriculum, as he takes up a new position at Hillmorton High School in Christchurch.

While we are genuinely sad to see him go, we are also proud of the opportunity that lies ahead for Todd and his family and wish them all every success in this next chapter.

Todd has been a cornerstone of Dunstan High School since his arrival, bringing with him not only a deep understanding of curriculum and assessment, but also a calm, considered, and thoughtful leadership style. His contribution to our kura has been immense — both seen and unseen — and he leaves a lasting legacy of academic excellence and professional integrity.

During his time at Dunstan, Todd has worked tirelessly to strengthen teaching and learning across the school. He has led significant developments in curriculum design with introduction of semesterisation and whanau ora which have positively impacted the engagement of our students. His clear thinking and analytical approach have helped shape the direction of our school’s academic programmes, while his care for students and staff has been evident in all that he does.

Todd is also deeply respected as a mentor and colleague. Many staff have benefited from his wise counsel, encouragement, and collaborative spirit. His commitment to professional development and building teacher capacity has elevated the work of those around him, and his leadership has helped create an environment where both staff and students can thrive.

Beyond the office and meeting rooms, Todd has also contributed to the wider life of the school — supporting events, mentoring students, and leading with humility and heart. Actively involved in mountain biking and camp programs to name a few. He embodies the values we hold dear at Dunstan: respect, kindness, and personal excellence.

Todd, thank you for everything you’ve done for our school community. Your impact will be felt for years to come, and you will always be part of the Dunstan whānau. We wish you and your family all the best as you head to Hillmorton. They are lucky to have you.

Ngā mihi nui,

Andrew King

Principal
