Young Enterprise Scheme (YES)
Recently, Jelena Morrell travelled to Dunedin to take part in a one-day accelerator run by the Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) in partnership with global business firm Deloitte.
As the only Year 12 student among a group of Year 13s, Jelena stood out for her confidence, critical thinking, and leadership. Tasked with solving a real-world problem faced by Deloitte, Jelena developed a standout idea that her group helped bring to life. Together, they wrote a detailed two-page report and presented a powerful five-minute pitch to a panel of Deloitte managers. Her group took out first place, impressing the judges so much that they were awarded an internship opportunity at any Deloitte firm once they begin university. This remarkable achievement showcases Jelena’s dedication to business, corporate law, and innovation. Congratulations, Jelena!
