28 May Business Presentations — Young Enterprise Scheme

On 28 May, several of our Young Enterprise Scheme teams travelled to Cromwell to present their business ideas to a panel of judges.

For many students, this was their first opportunity to pitch in a professional setting, and while the nerves were high, each team rose to the challenge with confidence, preparation, and pride.

Ahi Glow presented their Māori-inspired night lights, using display items to help the judges see how their product worked. Melt enjoyed the chance to step outside the classroom and share the business they have been building. Balmly impressed the judges with evidence-backed claims, thoughtful pricing, and future growth ideas, including expanding into products such as lip balm and hand soaps.

PawLit presented their prototype and product improvements, building a strong connection with the judges through clear communication, confidence, and passion. Sip & Scent showcased their iced coffee-themed candle, with judges especially impressed by the scent, realistic design, and creative use of jelly wax to create “ice cubes”.

The presentations gave students valuable feedback, fresh perspectives, and a real sense of achievement. Overall, it was a fantastic learning experience that helped strengthen teamwork, communication, and confidence in promoting a business idea.
