20 students completed their Practice Adventurous Journey last week. They planned their journey into Fiordland National Park, staying at Moturau Hut on the shores of Lake Manapouri.
They experienced self-sufficient tramping—carrying their own gear and food, and cooking their own meals using DOC facilities. Navigating on the trail and deep in the native bush, they gained knowledge of native plants and glacial features, while developing a better understanding of destructive native bird species.
