For me, Annie truly was an experience like none other. I never saw myself as a showman! I spent most of my time with my band, but I never imagined being a frontman, let alone all eyes on me during a full length musical.

I was offered the opportunity to play Warbucks. Though I was hesitant, I took the leap and decided to give it a go. 

I was able to meet new people, those I never would’ve spoken to without taking the role. It was so exciting to act and perform in front of a crowd with such a lovely cast. 

I would like to thank Mr Meissel for giving me the opportunity to experience something this unforgettable and I’m still reminiscing on that feeling I had during open night. I’d also like to thank Mrs Barnes for helping pull everything together and get my confidence up through enrolling me in singing lessons.

I truly wouldn’t trade this experience for the world and am extremely excited for what the future holds. I would recommend everyone take the chance if they’re given it, just like I did. NYC - Todd Abercrombie Yr11

Being a part of the Annie musical provided me with an experience that far exceeded my expectations. I was able to meet so many amazing people and make friendships I never would have expected.

It has been something I will never forget, but that’s not to say it wasn’t difficult for me! Singing on stage is probably one of the hardest things I have ever had to do, and it pushed me further outside of my comfort zone than I thought possible. However, the feeling of accomplishment afterwards made all the nerves and discomfort completely worth it!I would like to say a massive thank you to Mr Meissel, Mrs Barnes and Mrs Gee for all of their time and effort in putting together a show that the whole cast and crew could be proud of. Also, a huge thank you to Izzy, Todd, Zoey, William and everyone else who was so supportive throughout the whole process.I would 100% recommend getting involved in a musical to anyone thinking about it. I had so much fun during the production of Annie. Getting to work with friends of mine and making new friends in the cast was definitely a massive highlight. Playing a villainess character of Rooster was a great opportunity given to me and something I worked really hard to fully embrace. I particularly enjoyed performing my energetic song  Easy Street.  Doing a musical like Annie that people all know and love really puts a special kind of pressure on your shoulders. Being part of Annie has been such a fun experience, especially getting to play Miss Hannigan. She is such a cool and different character to play, and I’ve loved bringing her personality to life. I especially enjoyed working alongside Boston and Sienna, who play Rooster and Lily, and having my sister in the production as Pepper, one of the orphans, made it even more fun. Working with our amazing director, Mr Meissel, and everyone who helped contribute to the production made the whole experience so special. Being part of Annie the Musical was an experience I really enjoyed. Playing Drake the Butler gave me the opportunity to step outside my comfort zone, develop my confidence, and try something different from what I would normally do. One of my favourite parts was getting to know and work alongside people from different year levels, including the primary school students, who I otherwise wouldn’t have had much interaction with. - Nate Alexander Yr13
