Te Kiwai Fund
A new fund developed in partnership between Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu and Sport New Zealand Ihi Aotearoa, designed to support Māori wellbeing through play, active recreation, and sport.

The fund is available to 5–18-year-olds living in the South Island and is designed to assist with removing barriers to participation in sport and recreation. Each person can apply for up to $300 and can be used for things like:

·       Clothes and shoes e.g., uniforms, sneakers, boots

·       Equipment e.g., bats, racquets, balls

·       Participation costs e.g., membership fees, class fees, club dues

·       Transportation e.g., fuel costs, bus tickets

Money is given in the form of vouchers if it is for shoes/equipment/travel etc. up to $300.
