DHS Coach Development Workshop #1
Topic: Contemporary Skill Acquisition and Athlete Centred Coaching - taken by Nic Kelly.

Explore a range of strategies to cater for the variety of skill levels and abilities of team members, create improved engagement, effort and habits and to improve responsibility and decision making. This is a practical session with Indoor Bowls being used to demonstrate the techniques, and then we will look to apply this to the different codes.

What to Bring: Non-marking sports shoes, questions regarding your sport and engaging mixed abilities

Nic has a PE degree and recently completed AUT Post Grad Contemporary Skill Acquisition and Contemporary Sports Psychology study.
She has coached many sports but to a High Performance Level in Netball. Nic was a NNZ Carded Coach, Mainland BEKO coach, Mainland and Tasman Representative teams Coach. She has coached school senior A teams including Motueka High School to Nationals, Otaki College to Wellington School Champions, including coaching two Silver Ferns - Shannon Saunders and Kati Cooper. Nic has also completed contract work for NNZ around Contemporary Skill Acquisition and currently assisting to rewrite community courses for delivery Nationwide.

This course is open to all DHS coaches including student coaches.
